Welcome to the September edition of The Surge – designed to keep you connected with all that’s happening within the Frontier Energy Network.

World Energies Summit: Two Major Announcements

With just two days to go until the World Energies Summit goes live, we’re delighted to share the following news:

Opening Keynote Speaker Announced – Lebanon's Minister of Energy & Water, His Excellency Dr. Walid Fayad.

Just weeks after a consortium led by TotalEnergies, (including Eni and Qatar Energy) commenced oil and gas exploration in Lebanon's Block 9, it is highly fitting that H.E. Dr. Walid Fayad is the one to open the inaugural World Energies Summit.  As Lebanon’s Minister of Energy & Water, his insight could not be more appropriate as we kick off two days of discussion around the development of frontier energy regions.

The Lebanese Petroleum Authority’s vision for the upstream sector is designed to address the country's economic crisis "to ensure... competitiveness, to create value for economic and social development, to guarantee energy security and to enhance accountability for the stewardship of present and future generations."

That objective is precisely why we created the World Energies Summit. If you’re involved in making a difference in this way, join us 27th -28th September in the heart of London. Last few tickets can be secured here.

The World Energies Summit will also play host to His Excellency Vishnu Dhanpaul, High Commissioner for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, as we showcase the country’s 2023 Shallow Water Competitive Bid Round.

Government delegations of Lebanon, Newfoundland & Labrador, Indonesia and Uruguay will also be in attendance, alongside IOCs, independents, and service companies active in global exploration.

Team Frontier News

As we grow in reach and reputation, so our team continues to increase in size. This month, we welcome Ola Davies, Event Manager, to Frontier.

Ola may have studied Law and practised as a solicitor (focusing on oil & gas law in his native Nigeria) but at his heart, he was always passionate about events. Given that he was organising and managing events whilst still a student, it’s no real surprise that in 2007, Ola decided to make this his career. 15 years later and his track record in events management includes a range of industry through his work with the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, the JH Center for the Arts and latterly, IT behemoth, AWS.

Ola joins us with a commitment to support our growth trajectory, working closely with the whole team to ensure we continue to be renowned for our Global Summits, Member events, and online sessions – all of which do so much to develop the energy industry, from decarbonisation to frontier E&P hotspots.

Look out for Ola at next week’s World Energies Summit.
