To be the central public administration body that governs the areas of hydrocarbons, energy in general, petrochemicals, similar and related areas, based on its institutional competence, adequate and timely action, solidly based on excellence and motivation to achieve its employees.
The Ministry of People's Power for Petroleum, as established by Decree 2,350 published in the Official Gazette Number 428,353, dated June 9, 2016, assumed its new name by administratively and functionally disassociating itself from mining activity and creating the Ministry of People's Power for Ecological Mining Development.
In this regard, MinPetróleo maintains the powers that were initially conferred upon it as part of the Executive Cabinet of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the governing body in matters of oil policy that reports directly to the presidency of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
